TENSES BAHASA INGGRIS
1.      SIMPLE PRESENT
A.    Daily habits or usual activities
Daily habits or usual activities, as in (a) and (b)
Example:
a.       Ann tokes a shower everyday.
b.      I usually read the newspaper in the morning.
B.     General statement of fact
General statement of fact, as in (c) and (d)
Example:
c.       Babies cry

BE (is, am, are)
The simple present tense forms of  be are is, am, are.

A.    BENTUK NOMINAL
To be (is, am, are) pada kalimat bentuk nominal.
Example:
(+) They are at home every morning.
(-) They are not at home every morning.
(?) Are they at home every morning?

B.     BENTUK VERBAL
Do untuk I/You/They/We dan Does untuk He/She/It pada kalimat verbal.
Example:
(+) She watches TV in the evening.
(-) She does not watch TV in the evening.
(?) Does she watch TV in the evening?

Tanda waktu (time signal) simple present tense:
- Always                            - Here
- In the evening                 - There
- Generally                        - Everyday
- Usually                            - Every other day
- Often                              - Every week

2.      SIMPLE PAST TENSE
A.    BENTUK NOMINAL
You/They/We + To Be (Were)
I/He/She/It + To Be ( Was)

Example:
(+) They were at home last night.
( -) They were not at home last night.
(?) Were They at home last night?
B.     BENTUK VERBAL
I/You/We/They/He/She/It  + V II
 
 


Example:
(+) She watched TV yesterday.
(- ) She didn’t watch TV yesterday.
(?) Did she watch TV yesterday?
